A steam tracer installed with Heat Transfer Compound has the equivalent heat output of 3 to 6 bare tracers. Fewer steam traps to maintain and a quicker, cost effective installation. A bare tracer heats air to heat the pipe. A tracer installed with Heat Transfer Compound, directly heats the pipe.
Heat Transfer Compound offer full flexibility and provide an efficient thermal connection between the tracer and the heated object.
Whether:
- bonding tracer tubing to long piping runs
- irregular surfaces (valves and pumps) or
- tank walls
there is a Heat Transfer Compound specifically designed for every trace heating application.
SnapTrace is a preformed flexible heat transfer compound designed for straight piping runs, 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) and larger. SnapTrace includes TFK galvanized channel, providing mechanical and weather protection.
A single SnapTrace is available in 4' long sections to fit on piping without any problems.
Advantages of Preformed Flexible Heat Tracing Compound
- Easy, fast installation (snap-on)
- No curing procedure required
- Factory-formed to fit tracer and pipe (1.22m sections)
- No surface preparation required
- Non-soluble in water
