Ceramic Infrared Heaters

HTS Infrared

Ceramic infrared elements typically emit long wave spectrum radiation, producing a gentle and even heat which lends itself to softening of plastic before forming.

They are extensively used in the plastics industry for vacuum forming, pre-heating, softening of pipe ends before shaping, softening of Perspex before bending and heating of plastic surfaces to remove scratch marks.

In the packaging industry, ceramic infrared emitters are used to dry inks, to soften hotmelt glues, to preheat bags before sealing and for shrink wrapping.

Other applications include heating delicate surfaces, pre-heating, softening, curing and drying.

System power can be controlled using thermocouple sensors together with temperature controllers, thyristor switching units and other accessories. IR radiation areas can be assembled using reflectors, construction elements as well as mounting sheets.

With stronger ceramic and easy clip-on mounting, Elstein FSR & HTS heaters outperform standard elements and can be replaced in minutes.

FSR Range

FSR emitters are universally used and are characterised by their concave design which reduces heat absorption by the wiring space. FSR series heaters are made using a full-pour casting ceramic process.

HTS Range

HTS emitters offer superior energy efficiency and faster heat-up time. Less heat is lost towards the back of the element, resulting in a cooler termination chamber. This eliminates the problem of overheating cables and busbars.

HTS series radiators are produced using a hollow-casting ceramic process and are filled with thermal insulation material. This improves the radiant power output to the material to be heated. Furthermore, there is a significant reduction in heat dissipated in the wiring space, so that additional insulation of the heating area is usually not required.

Compared with FSR radiators, which are produced using full-poured casting processes, HTS radiators have a considerably reduced heating-up time and, depending on the type of application, enable energy savings of up to 25 %.
