Band Heaters are primarily used on injection moulding and extrusion machines in the plastic industry. Other applications include packaging machines and general heating of containers, pipes.
A distinctive feature of these elements is even heat distribution over a large surface area.
Construction consists of heating wire, insulated with either mica-plates or ceramic formers. The elements are usually metal shrouded for mechanical strength.
We have you covered with
- Mica Band Heaters: Common band heater type
- Ceramic Band Heaters: Often preferred to Mica band heaters due to high operating temperature and Watts-density, superior durability and flexibility
- Flexible Band Heaters: Mica Band Heaters with enhanced flexibility so they can be bent open to position them on barrels where slide-on is not practical.
- Hinged Mica Band Heaters: Fitted with a hinge for easy installation where the band cannot be slid on.
- Inside Out Mica Band Heaters: With outer heating surface, "inside-out" mica band heaters are typically used on plastic pipe extruders
- Semi Mica Band Heaters: Split design allows mounting or removal without mechanical stress to the elements.
- 3/4 Bands: Used on injection moulding and extrusion machines where physical constraints prevent fitting of full diameter bands.
Our band heaters are engineered to order, custom-manufactured & distributed across Sub-Saharan Africa.
12 months warranty
Our warranty for custom-manufactured heater bands extends over a 12 months period from date of purchase and covers failure due to defective material or workmanship.
